The finance director we are looking for has experience in optimizing and professionalizing finance in a fast-growing SME environment. He/she is a member of the management team, serves as a business partner in achieving the (international) growth ambitions of by-bar, and has a track record in leading and further developing a team. The ideal candidate is a finance director who is strategically strong, has a hands-on/can-do mentality, and enjoys the dynamics and challenges of a growing company.

by-bar amsterdam is a fast-growing Dutch clothing & accessory label. From the office in Breda, the entire process of styling, development, purchasing, sales, finance, and logistics is managed. The work environment is young, dynamic, and results-driven. Production takes place in Italy, Portugal, Turkey, and India. by-bar is sold in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and France through wholesale, online, and the brand store in Maastricht.

what will you do?
by-bar has ambitious international growth objectives. You will be responsible for setting up and managing the financial organization and the IT & data management structure. This includes planning, implementing, and managing financial activities such as business planning, budgeting, and forecasting. You will also drive the further professionalization of finance and provide strategic advice to sustainably expand the international growth ambitions. Strong communication skills and a data-driven approach are essential in this role. You will lead the finance team (4 FTE), be part of the management team, and report directly to the owner-directors.
responsibilities and tasks
- Ultimately responsible for the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of the budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and planning & control cycle.
- Providing strategic advice for professionalization and growth. You will translate this strategy into setting and monitoring budgets and forecasting processes, investments, and profit-loss reports.
- Optimizing systems and processes, including further developing the reporting structure with the use of the data warehouse and Power BI.
- Managing cash flows within the organization (cash and treasury tasks) including decision-making on the desired capital structures and investments.
- Facilitating fact-based decision-making by creating insightful business cases and business reports.
- Providing leadership in guiding the organization through change processes.
- Responsible for optimizing the IT landscape and data management.
who are you, and what do you bring
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- More than 5 years of work experience as a Finance Director (ultimate responsibility).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strategic thinking ability and decisiveness in turning plans into results.
- Able to develop and implement financial strategies that align with business goals.
- Above-average affinity with automation.
- Experience or affinity with the wholesale/retail sector.

by-bar is looking for someone to provide support to the facility organization. As an office & hospitality employee, you will be the representative contact person for guests and employees, prepare daily lunches, and support other departments.
what will your day look like?
Every day is different, but of course you always start the day with a delicious cappuccino or a nice cup of tea. You will work closely with your colleagues and be involved in various tasks, such as:
- Preparing lunches for employees and guests
- Determining recipes (soup & salads)
- Ordering products
- Preparing/cooking
- Coordinating general office matters (ordering office and warehouse supplies, coordinating cleaning, preparing physical mailings, etc.)
- Other supporting office-related tasks
- Supporting events (sample sale, kick-off event, etc.)
what do we expect from you?
- You have an affinity and passion for preparing healthy and well-presented lunches, catering experience is a plus;
- You are able to anticipate the needs of employees and guests;

What will your day look like?
As a customer service intern, you will be the hero for our customers. You will answer their questions via phone, email, and chat, help them with orders, and give them style advice with a smile. - Answering phone calls from customers.
- Processing and handling incoming emails via Zendesk, from orders to product questions.
- Answering online chats in Zendesk.
- Efficiently handling returns, from registration to refund.
- Creating shipping labels in Sendcloud.
- Contributing to the optimization of our processes in the customer service department.
- Assisting in the execution of competitive analyses.
- Providing support where needed for other operational tasks within the organization.

- You are following an MBO training in the direction of customer service, commercial employee, or similar.
