Transparency has always been part of by-bar. From the beginning, we have shared how our collections come to life, from sharing our production journeys to our long-term partnerships. In collaboration with Fashion Statement Now, we are openly sharing our production numbers, because openness should include the figures behind our decisions. 

As a certified B Corp, we believe responsibility starts with transparency, not only in intention, but in the choices behind it.

who is Fashion Statement Now?

Fashion Statement Now is an initiative that encourages brands to be transparent about their production, including quantities. By sharing this information, space is created for more honest conversations about responsibility and overproduction. At by-bar, we are proud to be part of this movement. Because real change starts with insight, and happens together.

In 2025, we produced 614.574 items — with care and intention. Beyond the season, we continue to take responsibility: items with minor imperfections are given a second life through sample sales or repair services. Because for us, every product deserves a purpose.

Our process starts long before a collection reaches the store. Through pre-sales in our showroom, we understand early where demand lies. We combine these insights with experience and a clear vision of what truly belongs in a conscious wardrobe.

We produce with intention. Balanced and considered. Long-term relationships with our suppliers allow us to stay flexible and, if needed, reorder within the season. At the same time, we make clear choices: no outlets, one defined sale period per season and no actions like Black Friday. Instead, since 2021, we consciously communicate Conscious Friday. Our growth is focused on what happens before sale. That requires thoughtful decisions from the start.

how we prevent overproduction

Preventing overproduction starts with listening. Our pre-sales provide early insights into what works. Feedback from retailers helps us refine fit, quality and wearability. This input shapes our final production decisions. We also build on proven styles and materials. This creates continuity and reduces risk. We prefer to reorder rather than overproduce upfront. Thanks to long-term partnerships, mainly in Europe and India, we can remain flexible. Timing also matters. Not every product is relevant throughout the entire season. By being mindful of this, we prevent unnecessary stock.

Transparency is not a separate initiative, it is embedded in how we operate. Our product QR codes provide insight into each product journey. We share where we produce and who is behind the product. And we continue to expand transparency across deeper levels of our supply chain.

Our goal is simple: to open the conversation. When production numbers become part of the dialogue, there is space for more honest discussions, about efficiency, responsibility and overproduction.
