Wool pieces are made to stay. Naturally warm, breathable and durable, they’re designed to be worn and loved season after season. Wool is also naturally resistant to odours, so it doesn’t need to be washed after every wear. Often, simply airing your piece is enough to make it feel fresh again.
Thoughtful care helps protect its softness, shape and character, so it can remain part of your wardrobe for years to come.

1. wash less, wear more
Wool doesn’t need to be washed after every wear. Often, airing your piece or gently treating a small spot is enough to freshen it up. When washing is needed, always follow the care label to help preserve the quality and feel of the fibre.
hand wash
When your wool piece needs a little more care, hand washing is often the gentlest choice. Use cold or lukewarm water and add a small amount of wool detergent. Let your knit move softly through the water without rubbing or stretching the fibres and rinse carefully with clean water. Gently press out excess water, without twisting or wringing.

machine wash
If the care label allows machine washing, keep things gentle Turn your piece inside out before washing and choose a wool or delicate programme at a low temperature, no higher than 30°C. Use a mild wool detergent and keep the spin cycle as gentle as possible. For delicate knitwear, a laundry bag can add an extra layer of protection. The softer the wash, the longer your wool piece will keep its shape, feel and character.

2. dry with care
How you dry wool matters just as much as how you wash it. While your piece is still damp, gently bring it back into shape and lay it flat on a clean towel or drying rack. Let it dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and heat.
Avoid hanging wet knitwear, as the weight can stretch the fibres and change its shape. Drying it flat helps preserve its fit, softness and quality, wear after wear.

3. store it well
Give your knitwear time to breathe between wears. Often, a little fresh air is all it needs. When it’s time to put it away, make sure it’s clean and completely dry. Fold it carefully rather than hanging it, and store it somewhere cool and dry.
Store it well, bring it back next season and wear it all over again. Good pieces are made to stay.
4. embrace and care for pilling
Pilling is a natural part of wearing wool. With regular wear, small pills may appear where there’s more friction, for example under the arms or where a bag rests against the fabric. It’s simply part of the character of the fibre and easy to refresh. Gently remove pills with a wool comb or fabric shaver, taking care not to pull or damage the fibres. Avoid razors or sharp tools, as these can damage the surface. A quick refresh is often all it takes to bring your knitwear back to its best, ready for many more wears.
Wear it often. Treat it right. Keep it for seasons to come.
