A few times a year, we make the journey to Italy to visit our trusted suppliers. These visits are more than just business obligations; they're a celebration of the enduring relationships we've built. Working primarily with smaller family businesses, we witness firsthand the exceptional craftsmanship that Italy is renowned for. In Italy, all our finest knitwear comes to life. Also, some of our woven styles and especially our beautiful
linen styles are produced here.
India
The story of by-bar began in this beautiful country. In 2008, Barbara embarked on her first journey to India to launch her own jewellery collection. Alongside jewellery, we now also manufacture cotton styles and premium leather accessories here. Moreover, we take pride in producing our upcycled antic styles, crafted from pre-loved saris worn by women in India, adding a unique touch to our collections while empowering our vision on sustainability.
Türkiye
Based in Türkiye renowned for its exceptional denim qualities, we carefully choose this location to ensure our products meet the highest standards. Recognizing the significant impact of denim production, we are steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that 100% of our denim collection is low impact. Additionally, our woven viscose styles are crafted in Türkiye, where we prioritize the use of the more sustainable EcoVero viscose, further reducing our environmental footprint.

We have been coming to Portugal for a long time. Since the beginning of by-bar, we have been producing the finest, high quality jerseys and sweats with beautiful artwork and embroidery here. Our dedication to quality has remained steadfast, and the same factories that welcomed us in the beginning continue to craft the best by-bar pieces. Together with our suppliers in Portugal, we're dedicated to shaping a more sustainable future, actively working to lower our environmental footprint.

How did the collaboration with by-bar first begin?
Our collaboration with by-bar began several years ago, rooted in a shared love for craftsmanship, authenticity, and conscious production. What initially started as a small partnership built on mutual trust soon grew into something truly meaningful. Over the years, this relationship has evolved into a beautiful creative journey — one where ideas, values, and visions flow naturally between us. It’s been inspiring to see how both teams understand and respect each other’s strengths, working together with honesty, heart, and passion. For us, by-bar is not just a brand we collaborate with — it feels like a shared story of creativity, integrity, and lasting connection.
What does the term 'conscious journey' mean to you personally, and how does by-bar align with this vision?
For us, a “conscious journey” means being thoughtful and responsible at every step — from carefully sourcing materials and ensuring ethical production, to valuing the well-being of everyone involved in the process. by-bar beautifully reflects this philosophy through its timeless designs, use of sustainable materials, and dedication to fair and transparent production practices.
What is the key to this partnership being so strong and successful after so many years?
Our collaboration spans over 14 years now, still going strong, and the key to this lasting success lies in mutual respect, transparency, and a shared vision. Both our teams deeply value open communication, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for creating high-quality, sustainable products. This long-standing relationship is built on trust, creativity, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way.
What do you hope to achieve together with by-bar in the coming years, both in terms of sustainability and style?
In the coming years, we hope to continue growing with by-bar in a way that deepens our shared commitment to sustainability and timeless style. Our goal is to explore even more responsible materials, innovative techniques, and conscious production methods that reduce impact while maintaining the beauty and quality we both value.
In terms of style, we wish to keep creating pieces that feel authentic — designs that carry the effortless elegance and natural charm that define by-bar. Together, we hope to inspire a community that chooses not just fashion, but a mindful way of living and expressing themselves.
What is your favourite by-bar item, and why do you cherish this piece?
My favourite by-bar items are from their clothing line, as each piece is crafted with such care, attention, and thoughtfulness. I cherish them because they are made to last, not just in quality but in style, allowing the wearer to feel confident and authentic. What truly resonates with me is how these pieces uplift your inner self, reflecting both elegance and comfort — making every garment more than just clothing, but a statement of individuality and mindful living.

How did the collaboration with by-bar first begin?
We first met at one of the denim fairs in Berlin and the developments we had created were perfectly aligned with by-bar’s expectations.
What does the term 'conscious journey' mean to you personally, and how does by-bar align with this vision?
For us, a ‘conscious journey’ means long-term cooperation, with a shared vision and target, working toward a better future and a better world. by-bar’s vision perfectly aligns with this as every conscious item or idea we present is often chosen first by the by-bar team.
What is the key to this partnership being so strong and successful?
The key to this partnership is our similar expectations regarding product quality and sustainability. We are successful in this partnership after 3 years, because we appreciate by-bar’s ideas and developments and they value what we create. We are, therefore, growing with a shared vision and target.
What do you hope to achieve together with by-bar in the coming years, both in terms of sustainability and style?
We are working on many projects with by-bar. In addition to using only organic, and sustainable fabrics with certifications we are also running a recycling project aimed at reusing the leftover fabric pieces from cutting.
What is your favourite by-bar item, and why do you cherish this piece?
There are so many, it's hard to pick just one. But if we had to pick one, our favourite item would be the striped pants, for which the by-bar team selects beautiful colours and patterns. These are made using yarn-dyed stripes, developed specifically for them.

Ensuring good working conditions across our supply chain is a top priority at by-bar. We believe that everyone involved in creating our products deserves a safe, fair, and respectful working environment. In 2024, 100% of our tier 1 suppliers signed our Code of Conduct. This commitment is an important step in ensuring that everyone we work with shares our values on fair working conditions, human rights, and environmental responsibility.
Presently, 80% of our partners meet third-party standards like Sedex, BSCI, SA8000, ICS, and Fair Wear. We are actively working with the remaining partners to improve their practices. We believe in growing together to make a lasting positive impact.
