wash mindfully

wash less, wear longer

wash mindfully
Always check the care labels inside your garments, but try to wash them at low temperatures (max. 30°C) or cold. Fill your washing machine efficiently to save water and energy, but avoid overloading. Too much friction can lead to wear and less effective cleaning. Also, be mindful of sorting your laundry. Separate light and dark colours and pay attention to different fabric needs. And last but not least, take your clothes out of the washing machine as soon as it's done to keep them fresh, wrinkle-free, and free from mildew.
wash less, wear longer
At by-bar, we believe in washing less to extend the life of your clothes. Frequent washing can harm their quality and impact the environment. Instead of washing after every wear, air out and shake your garments, this is often enough for another wear. Treat stains right away to avoid using the washing machine. dry naturally
Skip the dryer! One of the best choices for both your garments and the planet is to let them air-dry naturally. Take your damp clothes out of the washing machine as soon as possible, to prevent wrinkles and mildew. Give them a gentle shake, reshape them (especially jersey fabrics), and hang them on a drying rack or hanger.
How to take care of your fabrics

linen
Linen is a natural, breathable fabric known for its lightness and airy feel, making it perfect for warm weather. Its relaxed look and cool sensation on the skin makes it a popular choice for summer wear.
Our simple advice is to care for your linen textiles the way you would care for your own skin. Wash them with mild soap and lukewarm water, and rinse gently instead of scrubbing. Rinse thoroughly, let them air dry naturally, and store them in a place where they can breathe. The more gently you treat your linen, the longer it will stay looking fresh and beautiful.

cotton
Cotton is a soft fabric that’s perfect for
everyday wear. Its natural feel and comfort make it ideal for all seasons, and it’s easy to care for, making it a popular choice.
Cotton is pretty low-maintenance, but it
benefits from some thoughtful care. We recommend washing cotton items with mild detergent in cold or lukewarm water to preserve their softness and color. Avoid using hot water, as this can cause shrinkage. To maintain it’s quality, rinse thoroughly and prefer air drying. Store your cotton items in a cool, dry place to keep them fresh.

viscose
Viscose is a lightweight and breathable
fabric that keeps you comfortable, even on warm days. Its subtle sheen and fluid drape give it an elegant, luxurious look.
Viscose may shrink 4-8% after washing,
but don’t worry! Simply reshape the garment gently while it’s still damp. To maintain the beauty of your garment, it’s crucial to avoid high spin speeds and always skip the dryer. You can also lightly iron it inside out on a low temperature while it’s still slightly damp to help it regain its shape.

let the sun shine
But protect your clothes from the sunlight!
Keep your summer favorites looking fresh
with these simple tips:
Dry your clothes inside out in the shade
to prevent color fading.
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight on delicate fabrics like viscose and linen to maintain their quality.
Store your favorite light-colored pieces away from windows where they’re exposed to strong sunlight.
With these mindful steps, you can enjoy
the sun while keeping your garments in top
condition for seasons to come
